ARCHBISPHOP of CANTERBURY'S
MESSAGE TO THE PEOPLE
OF NORWAY

The Archbishop of Canterbury, Dr Rowan Williams, has sent his prayers and sympathy to the people of Norway following the tragic events in Oslo and Utøya last Friday.

His message is as follows:

"Along with all the faithful of the Church of England, I want to express my deepest sympathy with the people of Norway in the wake of the appalling events of recent days. Norway has played so great a part over many years in international reconciliation as well as developing its own distinctive national ethos of openness and fairness, and it is a special tragedy that it should suffer this outbreak of senseless carnage. Our prayers are with all those who died and all those who mourn them; and we are grateful for the many signs of strength and spiritual maturity that the Norwegian people have shown in their response to evil and destructiveness."

(The Church of England and the Church of Norway are in communion, as a result of the Porvoo Agreement.

IMAGES OF THE BLESSING & PRESENTATION
OF LARA KUSHIMO
Sunday, July 17, 2011.

The blessing and presentation is to express thanksgiving
for the life of a new person, and we encourage couples to
do that before the baptism.

It is simple liturgy but full of meaningful.
Lara's parents Titi and Wole are happy
to see how their little baby is blessed.

Lara was blessed and presented to God and to the
community of her parish in a beautiful summer day.

PRECIOUS PEOPLE: The diocese of Toronto and the Church of St. Paul, Runnymede, regret the difficulties caused by the bankruptcy of Precious People Day Care. We are not responsible for the operation of the Day Care as the Day Care was only a tenant on the premises, and was not affiliated with us in any way. We understand the frustration felt by the parents. However, please refrain from calling the Diocese of Toronto or St. Paul’s Church, Runnymede as we are not involved with the Day Care or the Ministry and cannot offer any assistance. Our prayers are with all the community. Thank you very much,

The Wardens and the Rector of St. Paul’s Church, Runnymede.
