WORLD DAY OF PRAYER 2011: On Saturday, March 5th, 2011 @ 10 am. Please join us to celebrate this ecumenical initiative around the world. This year it is focused on Chile, a year after a severe earthquake. The service will take place at St. James Roman Catholic Parish, located at 740 Annette Street, former location of our church building. BISHOP TERRY BROWN VISITED OUR PARISH: The Rt. Rev'd Terry (R) former bishop in Solomon Island, was very happy to visited us on Sunday, February 20th as a guest preacher. he was impressed with our hospitality and welcoming community.

Bishop Mouneer Anis, the Anglican Bishop of Egypt has released a statement about the situation in his country.
.
He writes: I called upon the people of Egypt to give time for the new government to achieve the needed security, justice and democracy. We meet every day at the cathedral to pray for the situation.
.
We thank God because all our churches and institutions are safe. ‘We, with many other Egyptians, are very sad because of the violence and destruction within our beloved country. ‘Egypt is known in the region as "the mother of the world." Now, the mother is wounded by its own children, which is harder than wounds of outside wars. ‘
.
Please pray so that God may give wisdom to all those who are in authority to put an end to this unacceptable violence. Pray for the demonstrators in order that they may go back to their homes and wait for the new government to act. Pray for the medical teams who are dealing with the wounded. ‘Pray especially tomorrow, as people tend to gather and demonstrate on Fridays. Pray for God's protection for all the people of Egypt. We have hope in God who is the King of Kings and Lord of Lords.’

BISHOP TERRY BROWN VISITS OUR PARISH: The Rt. Rev'd Terry Browm (retired) was bishop in Papua New Guinea, and now is working as an academic in a university in New Zeland. Bishop Brown is the mentor of Fr. Maurice and on Sunday, February 20th will preach at our 10:30 am Sunday Service. Please, mark your calendar and plan to attend. Thanks.

ANNUAL VESTRY MEETING 2011: After our Sunday Service of Sunday, February 13th, everyone is invited to attend and participate of our Annual Vestry Meeting, the most important administrative meeting in a parish life. There you will be able to know through annual reports by the wardens, treasurer, rector, programs, budget, etc... Lunch will be provided.

DISCUSSION GROUP AT ST.PAUL'S: Starting in February, we will have twice a month a Discussion Groups on Thursdays from 7:30 to 8:30 pm. Please, mark your calendars and plan to attend this new space of informal and interactive way to learn about spirituality and religion among many other issues.

WHAT IS CONFIRMATION: It is the step when a candidate by his/her own initiative want to renew in public his/her baptismal vows when was still a child.
WHAT IS REAFFIRMATION: It is the opportunity for any person who was baptized and confirmed who want to renew in public his/her baptimal vows and confirmation vows.
WHAT IS RECEPTION: For those who were from another faith of Christian denomination and now are Anglicans and want to make more public and official his/her new afiliation.

EPISCOPAL VISIT: Bishop Poole is visiting us on Sunday, February 27 @ 10:30. In this occasion, Bishop Poole will preside over the confirmations, reaffirmation and reception. Please, those who are interested please contact Father Maurice. Thanks.

BADEN POWELL SERVICE 2011: This year will take place on Sunday, February 27th, same day of Bishop Philip Poole's visit to our parish. Bishop Poole was a scout, tropper leader and akela, so he is happy to celebrate BDP at St. Paul's.
